Children are growing up in a electronic driven age. That is no secret to any of us. They
are no longer satisfied with board games and paper dolls . They want the latest video
games systems and even think they are entitled to cell phones ! After all "Jenny has one
and she's in the 2rd grade." Times have changed and even more so as they dive in to
the virtual world.
They used to spend their allowance on Barbies and lots of them. But Barbie and Ken
|
have been kicked to the curb since websites like" Club Penquin" arrived. They can
|
build their own "igloos" and decorate them any way they want. It's their own virtual
room that they can invite friends, send messages, have partys, buy pets and all sorts
of things for their virtual "igloos". We have two accounts right now for my kids.
So is it safe? I think so. I have observed the website and they can only send messages
pre-written by "Club Penguin". They even have people who watch over the website
for safety. But you will have to pay a monthly charge to sign-up! Over all i give it my
recommendation. But if they don't know about it! Why tell! Though it seems only a
matter of time before they enter the world of I.M.ing, My Space, ect.. We just need to
know how to protect them and know what is going on with these websites.
